「I'm Having a Baby」So My Husband Told Me
The Root Cause of Me Being Here is You, Though
Translated by: S3

The three of us—myself, Nonnalie, and Zen—slowly began walking deeper into the forest.
Occasionally, we sensed or heard the cries of beasts or monsters, but none of them seemed intent on attacking us; it was entirely peaceful. Aside from the unusual darkness, the forest was utterly calm.
「Light Magic can really create light out of nothing, huh?」
「Well, it is Light Magic. If it couldn't use magic true to its name, then it wouldn't be right to call it that.」
Floating ahead in our direction was a sphere of light as bright as a lantern. Thanks to the light I created, we could navigate the dark forest easily.
「Hey, hey.」 Zen suddenly pulled on my arm.
「Hmm? What is it?」
「Why do you use formal language with Non?」
That’s a good question.
I myself find it strange, but for some reason, I always use formal language with Nonnalie. Is it because of her imposing demeanor, never fawning over anyone?
「Because I am superior to her.」 Nonnalie suddenly said something ridiculous.
「Huh, is that true?」 Zen's eyes widened, showing his surprise at the news.
「Hold on. Don't teach a child such a strange lie.」
「It’s not a lie. In reality, you use formal language with me because you think I’m superior, right?」
「No, I don't know about that.」
I don't care who is superior or inferior.
「We will have to settle things between us eventually, won't we?」
「Anytime, if that’s what you desire.」
Her demeanor suggested she might say, right now, if given the chance. Her expression clearly conveyed that she wasn't even considering defeat. Do I look that weak?
Well, I don't have much confidence in winning, though.
As we walked, engaging in this sort of trivial (?) conversation, we seemed to have ventured quite deep.
「No light is getting in here.」
Looking up, the wildly growing trees completely obscured the sky, and the faint sunlight that was there at first was now completely undetectable.
「We must be getting close to the center of the forest.」
We've walked quite a distance. Just as Nonnalie said that and looked around.
「Oh? There’s something there.」 She narrowed her eyes.
「Eh, a monster?」 I guarded Zen behind me and peered forward with caution.
「It's too far to tell what it is...」
「It's a person.」
「You can see them?」
「Well, thanks to Light Magic, I have good eyesight.」
「That's a convenient thing.」
「I'm honored by the praise.」
「I praised the magic, not you.」
「I figured!」
I don't understand the logic of praising the magic but not me, but I'll set that question aside for now.
「Deep in the Demon Forest, it wouldn't be a person... would it?」
「You mean a demon?」
「Nine times out of ten, yes.」
Even as she said that, Nonnalie looked 100% certain it was a demon, not just nine or ten times out of ten. Her hand was resting on her sword. This meant she was ready for combat at any moment.
Still, suddenly attacking without confirming their identity is rather rude... isn't it? Since there's a slim chance of them being human, it's best to avoid an immediate attack.
「Wait for a moment.」
「I know. I don't care about you, but I have to protect Zen, so I won't lower my guard.」
「Hey, protect me too!」
「Why?」
'Why,' she asks. 'Why,' she asks. I want to repeat that about three more times.
Then, suddenly, I felt a warm hand gripping mine. Was Zen scared and holding my hand again?
「Zen, it's dangerous, so please step back a little...」
I turned to look at the owner of the hand, and I lost my words.
