The game I've been hooked on lately is Fortnite. I play it every day on my gaming PC. My current skin is Marshmello. Naturally, I even attended the Marshmello live event inside Fortnite. It was the absolute best!

Right now in this salon room, I'm playing Splatoon on the Switch with Michael. Today, Yuu-san and the younger Hongo brother were acting strange. When I knocked on Room 311 on a whim, there were Yuu-san and the younger Hongo brother. (I have a superior sixth sense!) But Michael has a mysterious power just like me—no, even greater than mine. As expected of my best friend. Though he's an idiot!

Now then, while playing the game, I overhear about Rei-chan's birthday party. (This is something I ought to plan a surprise for.)

I met Rei-chan before any of them. I called out to Rei-chan before anyone else. This is destiny. My instincts tell me that Rei-chan is mine.

Even though I want to be gentle with Rei-chan, I always end up making her mad. But an angry Rei-chan is rare. Ultra-rare. An SSR! So in a way, that makes me happy. No, extremely happy. She gets mad while looking up at me with those big eyes! And her crying face is adorable too!

By the way, I am also the 'knight' protecting Rei-chan. To keep Yuria from getting close to Rei-chan, I keep Yuria under surveillance. However, I can't monitor Yuria all the time, so the moment I look away, Yuria spews verbal abuse at Rei-chan.

If I hadn't been asked by Akimi-san° back in elementary school, I never would have been around Yuria in the first place. Besides, I barely ever see her outside of the academy anyway. And yet, Rei-chan tells me to date her. (What a cruel girl Rei-chan is!)

I love Rei-chan! That's why my very first girlfriend absolutely has to be Rei-chan. No, Rei-chan will be my first and last girlfriend! No, she's the girl who's going to become my wife!

「Kaoru, I won at Splatoon!」

「Blast it! How could someone like me lose?!」

「Kaoru, were you thinking about Reiko Kujouin?」

「...You really are sharp! As expected of my best friend.」

「But Reiko Kujouin is mine. Kaoru, you can't have her.」

「You go marry Bianca! Not that I know what kind of woman she is, though.」

「I'll show you.」

Michael pulled out his smartphone.

On the screen was a woman who looked about twenty years old.

「I like younger girls better than older ones.」

「Michael, you idiot! This Bianca is going to take care of you! Your parents arranged this engagement precisely because they were worried about how dim-witted you are. Marrying her as things stand is what will bring you happiness. Got it?」

「No.」

「Don't be so unreasonable. Bianca is the only woman who would ever marry a piano freak like you!」

「There's Reiko Kujouin.」

「Heh, you really are an idiot. In this place, I'm the only one qualified to date Rei-chan! After all, I have a pure body!」

「...No one would know that unless you said something.」

「On top of being an idiot, you're going to lie?!」

「I want Reiko Kujouin.」

Michael seems to like Rei-chan more than I thought. But no matter how you look at it, Rei-chan dislikes Michael. (Poor Michael. When I start dating Rei-chan, he'll be hurt, but I'm sure Bianca will comfort him.)

「Kaoru, Reiko Kujouin dislikes you. So it's impossible.」

「If you're going to put it that way, you're the one she dislikes!」

「Kaoru, I feel sorry for you. Not even knowing that Reiko Kujouin dislikes you.」

Saying that, Michael patted my head.

「Make sure to come to my wedding with Reiko Kujouin.」

(Michael, you really are an idiot.)
